Color Match Game is an independent browser puzzle about the difference between seeing a color and holding it in your mind.
Why this game exists
Color can feel unmistakable while it is in front of us. Remove the reference, however, and hue, brightness, and intensity begin to drift. This game turns that brief uncertainty into something playable: four seconds to study one detail, three controls to rebuild it, and an immediate comparison at the end.
One challenge shared by everyone
Each UTC day selects five rounds from a pool of original illustrated scenes. The date determines both the selection and the order, so players on different devices receive the same challenge that day. Scores and streaks stay in the browser; no account is required.
What the score means
A raw RGB distance does not map neatly to what people see, so the game converts both colors to a perceptual color space and compares them with CIEDE2000. The result becomes a friendly 0–100 score. It is feedback for this puzzle—not a medical assessment of eyesight or color vision.
Made for quick, careful play
The illustrations are original vector artwork created for the game. There are no downloads, logins, loot boxes, or paywalls in the daily challenge. The project will grow through more scenes, better sharing, and improvements guided by how people actually play.
